Rev. David Stippick
Pastor of Community
A Georgetown native with 20 years in Central Texas churches. Married, father of four, prone to the occasional holy curse word.
Who We Are
We're an autonomous, member-funded Christian community embodying the life of Jesus in belief and action — weaving meaningful relationships through worship, growth, and service.
Peace of Christ began in the spring of 2012, when a small group answered an invitation to form a progressive, contemplative, liturgical congregation. We held our first service in a borrowed chapel under the name Grace Baptist Church.
We later renamed ourselves Peace of Christ in response to the troubling entanglement of extreme politics with parts of the American church. We wanted to be known for something else: spiritual formation through meditation, contemplation, and centering prayer — and a safe home for those recovering from hurtful, spiritually abusive church experiences.
Today we ordain women, celebrate our LGBTQIA+ siblings, give children meaningful roles, and pursue justice for refugees and the marginalized alongside care for the earth. We partner for ministry with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and the Alliance of Baptists.

We encourage authentic spiritual journeys and affirm honest questions, holding an open and generous approach in belief and practice.
We embrace and serve ALL people with the love Christ demonstrated, recognizing God's call of everyone to the work of reconciliation.
