GoFundMe for Hagen Family

We are part of the Hagen family's community, and we are raising funds to help offset the unexpected costs of surgery.

After a twisted ankle turned out to be a severely injured ankle, Malia is having surgery to repair a torn ligament, a torn tendon, and an osteochondral lesion with cartilage damage on May 20th. (Ouch!)

Despite three physicians’ recommendations, insurance has denied covering the surgery, which will cost the Hagens $11,900. Malia will also be missing two full weeks of pay while she recovers from surgery in May, making this an especially difficult financial situation, and we want to ease as much of the burden as possible.

Malia has been staying off her feet as much as possible for over four months without improvement, and she is ready to get back to exercise and being present and active with her three kids under 10! For the first six weeks post-surgery, Malia will not be able to place any pressure on her foot, using only crutches or a knee scooter. Next, she will be able to begin physical therapy and minimal walking with both feet! As you can see, the Hagen family is in for a long recovery process, and we hope to encourage them through this process!
