Ash Wednesday Service

Join us for our Ash Wednesday Service on Wednesday, February 18th, 2026

We’ll gather at the Texas Hall at 6 p.m. for a time of shared music and poetry (fillable prompt to come!) followed by the application of ashes made from our 2025 Palm Sunday palm leaves. See below for the fillable prompt, and two examples!

New World Prompt

If I were making the world new, I would ________________________________________

I would eliminate ________________________________________

But I would add _______________________________________

I would make _________________________ possible

I would make __________________________ utterly impossible.

In my new world you would experience __________________________________

In my new world we would see ________________________________

In my new world I would hear _______________________________

In my new world, _______________________________________

This world is for _____________________________________

Example #1

If I were making the world new, it would be full of magic

I would eliminate disease,

But I would add unicorns as well as teleportation and snow days whenever you want them.

I would make floating on air possible

I would make losing your stuff utterly impossible

In my new world you would experience fairies and wishes come true

In my new world we would see dinosaurs in real life, but they wouldn’t hurt you.

In my new world I would hear no alarms or sirens or beeping

In my new world, all clouds would be pink.

This world is for escaping into when the old one is just too much.

Example #2

If I were making the world new, I would start by putting women and children in charge.

I would eliminate bombs, guns, traffic jams, and menstrual cycles.

But I would add free ice cream.

I would make healthcare and food and shelter for everyone possible

I would make becoming a billionaire utterly impossible.

In my new world you would experience both fairness and safety.

In my new world we would see the stars more clearly in the sky.

In my new world I would hear the continuous laughter of children.

In my new world, all people would be free.

This world is for our children.
